Field investigations

Electro fishingAECOM has undertaken a range of field investigations throughout the project study area.

Studies have been undertaken as part of the route and access option investigations and demonstrate the constraints and issues that have been considered:

  • Geotechnical
  • Topography, geology and soils
  • Urban design, landscape and visual amenity
  • Traffic, transport and road safety
  • Public utilities and services
  • Social-economic
  • Flora and fauna (terrestrial and aquatic)
  • Water quality
  • Cultural heritage (Indigenous and non-Indigenous)
  • Flooding and drainage
  • Land-use and planning
  • Noise and vibration
  • Climate and air quality
  • Fog monitoring
  • Ecologically sustainable development.

Additional field investigations may be required from time to time throughout the planning process. The RTA and AECOM project team appreciates the cooperation of residents and businesses during these activities. The team will endeavour to minimise disruption to residents and road users during all investigations.
